From Memory to the Runway: QIFEI Brings Worldly Hearth to Milan Fashion Week

For SS27, designer Yilin Na transforms taste, memory and Chinese pop culture into a multisensory fashion experience.

This Milan Fashion Week, fashion is not only meant to be seen. For QIFEI, it is something to feel, remember and experience.

On September 25, QIFEI will present its Spring/Summer 2027 collection, Worldly Hearth, as part of Afro Fashion Association’s “A Rising Voice” event. Led by creative director and designer Yilin Na (Abel Na), the presentation will take place at Milan’s Galleria Meravigli, combining a runway show with a sensory experience.

Almost a decade after graduating from Istituto Marangoni, Na returns to Milan with a collection built around an unconventional question: how can sensation become fashion?

Worldly Hearth — 人间烟火, or “the vital rhythm of everyday life” — explores what a generation sees, touches, remembers and shares. At its centre is MALAKING, a spicy snack rooted in Chinese popular culture that becomes a symbol of collective Gen-Z memory, connecting childhood, adulthood and pop culture.

Na translates these references into silhouette, texture, colour and movement, turning taste into a visual and tactile experience. Chinese heritage is reinterpreted through a contemporary lens, while QIFEI’s signature aesthetic combines minimalism, sophisticated comfort, discreet luxury and craftsmanship precision. Refined materials meet raw details, bold silhouettes and mysterious, dark forms.

The collection was also developed through the Afro Fashion Association mentorship programme, under the guidance of AFA President Michelle Francine Ngonmo and the association’s team, marking a new direction in QIFEI’s evolving creative identity.

Ahead of the runway, a press conference at 16:00 will bring together Ngonmo, Yilin Na and a special guest from MALAKING. At 17:00, Worldly Hearth will take over Galleria Meravigli for its runway and sensory presentation. Both the press conference and runway presentation are private, invitation-only events.

Memory and sensation. Heritage and pop culture. Precision and instinct. On the Milan runway, QIFEI brings these contrasts together in an experiment that transforms the familiar into something unexpected.
