Welcome JAZZMI with Istanbul Sessions in Santeria Social Club at 22.30 on the 4th of November!
A saxophonist, producer, composer, the owner of Nublu club and recording company, and curator; Ilhan Ersahin is a man of many trades.
Swedish-Turkish New Yorker Ilhan Ersahin has been active at the Istanbul music scene since 1994 when he made his first appearance in a jazz festival. Through the years, he got to know local musicians and play with them. He founded the Istanbul Sessions project with three very important musicians: Alp Ersonmez, Turgut Bekoglu and Izzet Kizil. The band’s concept is based on a combination of sounds and spirit of a young of Istanbul represented by the four amazing musicians with great personality and musical technique led by Ersahin.
Other events on the gala night of JAZZMI are Ron Carter Golden Striker Trio in Teatro dell’Arte, and David Sanborn & The Christian McBride Trio in Blue Note Milano.
JAZZMI will take place between 4 and 15 of November in Milano with more than 120 events including concerts, exhibitions, meetings, workshops and many others. More than 300 artists will be take jazz lovers to an amazing journey of jazz music. Besides the concerts, you can enjoy every aspect of jazz with a collection of events like JAZZMIBook, JAZZMIMovie, and JAZZMINights.

Sassofonista, produttore, compositore, curatore, proprietario del Nublu club e di una compagnia di registrazione: Ilhan Ersahin è un uomo pieno di lavoro!
Il New Yorker Ilhan, di origine Svedese-Turca, è presente nelle scene della vita musicale in Istanbul dal 1994, quando fece la sua prima apparizione in un festival jazz. Negli anni ha conosciuto un gruppo musicale locale e suonato con loro. Ha fondato il progetto Istanbul Sessions con altri tre grandi icone musicali della zona: Alp Ersonmez, Turgut Bekoglu and Izzet Kizil. Il sound di base della band è la combinazione di suoni e spirito di una giovane Istanbul, rappresentata dai quattro giovani musicisti con grande personalità e tecnica musicale con Ersahin come punto di riferimento.
